National Immunization Week was initiated:in 1943 by the Health League of Canada in cooperation with depart- ments of health, This is your advance notice of the coming fourteenth National Immunization Week, which is carried out every year by the Health League of Canada in cooperation with Depart--- ments of Health all across Canada, A glance at the startling drop in number of cases and deaths from Smallpox, Whooping-cough, and Diph- theria from the start of National Health Week in 1943 to the end of 1955 is plain proof of the very tangible results achieved by this Week, We tend to take such things as immunization as automatic and for granted. A year in Canada without immunization against these diseases would mean epidemic outbreaks, costing thousands of dollars and lives. We must be constantly reminded of the dangers of these diseases, and of the value of immunization. Diphtheria Smallpox Whooping C.
