On Tuesday evening Sentember 25th a tragedy occurred in Terrace Bay wien in a- © double fatality automobile accident, two residents of Terrace Bay and employees of the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company were killed. George Terrance Cavanaugh, age 19 son of Mr. and irs. Edward Cavanaugh of Terrace Bay, and Kenneth Hove age 20, son of Mr, Gunnar Hove of Port Arthur, were killed in the accident which occurred on Highway 17 at the bridge which spans the Aguasabon River. A third passenger in the car, also emoloyed at the Longiiac mill was Thomas Ryan who survived the accident and is at present in the Terrace Bay Hospital. The funeral for Terry Cavanaugh will be held at 9:00 a.m, Friday, September 28th from St, Martin's Church in Terrace Bay, The funeral for Ken Hove will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28th from the Everest Funeral Home in Port Arthur, The deepest symoathy of the Community is extended to the parents and relatives of the accident victims. AROUND THE TOWN Mr, and irs. Murray Foran of MacTier were visitors for the past week at the home of Mrs. Foran's sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Joe Shubaly. Mre.E. Wallin returned to her home in Kenora having spent the past ten days visiting her son Bill Wallin and family. Bill's sister and brother-in-law Mr, and lirs. Percy Gould also of Kenora accompanied taeir other to and from Terrace Bay, visiting in between in the States, We were please to learn Peter liazza is recovering following his lengthy seige in the hospital and expecting to return to work in November, ; Recovering also is Mrs, Rita Boudreau following her recent operation at McKellar Hospital, Fort William, Miss Bella Begin has returned from her extensive motor trip through western Canada to Vancouver and Victoria, over to the States where they travelled through four- teen states before arriving in New York, From New York they continued back to Canada visiting in Montreal, Toronto, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie then back into the States through Michigan, Wisconsin and back to Canada and Terrace Bay. For this trip which took over a mont. Bella was accompanied by her two sisters Florence and Yvette and a brother Fernand, all of Hearst, Ontario, Mr. and Mrs. J. V.:Letain of Kenora are visiting their daughter and son-in-law Mary (Cont. on next col,) AROUND THE TOWN (Cont. ) Pago h and Curly Hale for two weeks, Mrs, Betty Turner has'her Dad, Mr, Bruce W. Carroll of Kentville, N.S. visit- ing her this week, Mr, and irs. Don Laporte visited Duluth, Wisconsin recently accompanying Carol Holford, Carol enrolled at the College of St, Scholastica for the coming year. Mr. and Mrs, Austin Boutilier and iiss Ann Boutilier left Sunday for Bedford, N.S., after visiting with sons Don and Aubrey Boutilier and families and daughters Phyl Turner and Helen Hales and families, They are motoring west with Mr, and Mrs, T. Burke and son Gary who visited the past two weeks with her sister Phyl Turner and family. Mr. George Cotton of Winnipeg with son Curtis of Fort William, Bob and grandson of Vickers! Heights were weekend guests of Reg Cotton. l.rs. Evelyn Partington held a birthday party on Wednesday afternoon, September 19th for her son Jordy's third birthday. Six kiddies were present and joined in the festivities prior to the birthday luncheon, 0-0-0 REGISTERED NURSES TO MEET A meeting of all Nurses of Terrace Bay, Schreiber, liarathon, and district will be held on Monday, October i, 1956 in the Conference Room of the Rec. Centre, Terrace Bay, Every graduate Nurse, active or inactive, is asked to attend, This is an attempt to get all the Nurses together as a group with the idea of holding meetings monthly or every two or three months, as the groun wishes, to discuss modern nursing techniques, new drugs, etc. We will endeavour to have speakers from the medical and nursing oro- fession from time to time, show films and such items of interest to nurses, depending of course, on the amount of interest shown by the turnout to the meetings.
