RECREATION FLYER (Cont.) -- - TEEN TOWN NEWS ~schedule in the High School - each second and fourth Saturday, from 9:00 wmtil 12:00 pem. We will be calling a club meeting to nominate a slate of officers for the coming season. Please watch the paper for the date, time and place, 0-0-0 FIRE! 44 The first man-made fire of the season in this district was started last week. 'Thursday or Friday of last week, some Careless camper or campers left their camp-fire in the Devil Lake Area supposedly out. Apparently the surface fire was put out, however the roots in the ground under the fire were still burning and after a short period they broke into a surface fire again and started to spread. It was very fortunate that two Terrace Bay residents came 'across the fire and although it took the be#ter part of a day, they managed to put it out, A very sincere thank you is given _ to these two men who, on their own and with improvised equipment managed to put out this fire, It would have caused con- siderable damage if left unchecked, Just a reminder, if you must build a fire in the bush, build it on a rock surface. If it has to be built on the ground be sure it is out both on the surface as well as under the surface, o-O-o SAFETY MEETING AT RED ROCK SEPTEMBER 13th AND 14th The Northwestern Branch (Mills Group) of the Ontario Pulp and Paper Makers!
