The time to do a job on the lawn in this country, because of comparative cool- ness, is from now until the end of August. It has been found that seeding in the Fall is not successful. A good method of reseeding is as follows: Prepare the' soil for seeding by raking it down until all dead grass is removed and top soil well loosened. An application (Cont. on next col.) : Page: 3 MAINTENANCE OF LAWNS (Cotte) of fertilizer is advisable at this stage, wetting down thoroughly and leaving for a week béfore planting the seed, To plant the seed, first loosen the soil, and after sowing, a light rolling is desirable, A moderate wetting down will take the place of rolling. It is essential that a newly sown area be kept moist during the period of germination. Don't oversow, A pound of seed is sufficient to cover an area of 225 sq. feet (ise. an area of 15. ft, by 15 ft.) In using fertilizer the same precaution should be talen, Four pounds is sufficient to do .a job on 225 square feet. Grass seed and fertilizer may be pro- cured at the Company Warehouse at cost. 0-0-0 HEADLIGHT CLINIC This coming weck, on Wednesday, June 13th and Thursday, June 1th, the Terrace Bay Kiwanis Club would like to have all car drivers check their head~- lights for correct alignment at their headlight clinic at the Terrace Bay Enterprises garage.
