Sunday, June 10th the first baseball game of the season will be held on the local diamond. In order that we may revive baseball in the North Shore, challenges have been extended to all Junior and Senior teams of all com- munities in the district. As the chal- lenges are accepted, we will schedule these games -- thus bringing to you further summer entertainment. However, it should be pointed out that only through your attendance, enthusiasm and generosity will the club find encouragement to bring in as many teams as possible, The game of this Sunday is expected to be one of excitement with our Juniors taking on our "Seniors. At this time, we wish to make public appeal to the parents of the Juniors to get out and encourage the youngsters through your cheers. The announcement was made by Hon, Clare E, Mapledoram, Minister of Lands and Forests, during a recent visit to the northern part of the Province, As an important part of the fire prevention campaign, bush travel permits are again being issued by the Department without charge. They are being issued by rangers, tourist camp operators, sellers of fishing and hunting licences, Contrary to reports which reached (Cont. on page 8)
