JUVENILE HOCKEY (Cont. ) influence of pro training by their hard' hitting style. ee For Terrace the Kenney, Marsh and Vezina line was very efféctive scoring 4 of. the' six goals in the first game, Jackie Marsh though the small boy on the ice kept a steady pace, back checking like a fiend escaping numerous body checks which were constantly thrown at him, The score 7-1 of the second game does not indicate the actual play. In this game the Terrace team seemed to come to life and displayed more confidence by taking the off- ensive in a rough type of game to which they were not accustomed, Time and time again they applied such pressure that only the Spectacular net minding prevented Terrace from scoring. Danny Kenney who scored the lone goal for Terrace played a stellar game throughout, The one big lesson learned in the trip to Kap is that if we wish to train hockey players for possible professional careers, they must be taught to dish out and play the hard and rugged type of hockey which is now being played in all leagues, Many ardent fans in our midst might _ look with disfavour on this attitude, To _ these people I would say that any efforts to change the game locally by discouraging legitimate use of body will only jeopardize the future of our boys hockey careers by making them unfit and unprepared (as Terrace was in Kap) for the heavy type of hockey that is taught everywhere, If we wish to change the hockey then I would suggest that any opinions held should be directed to the C.A-H.A, not to any local hockey player who is playing the game as "writ", Despite the rough time the boys had on the ice, the trip to Kap was a great success, For the return trip the four cars left to- gether and kept in contact with each other from town.to town, Ri Joe Adamo, Minor League Hockey Chairman. 0-0-0 BOWLING The Rookies made a clean sweep of all the points getting 9 out of 9 points which ', put them in first place, This has been a very close series, by the looks of things it could be anybody's series, ; (Cont. on next col,) MIXED TEN PIN (Cont. ) ROORLES 4) S13 obey Maebees - 404 pts.
