This was done gradually like a good runner then put on the extra spurt at the last to take the 2nd place in the standings, This is the second year in succession for this team to win the Imperial Bank Trophy although they bowled under the name of the Cut Ups last season, Wanderers went into the second game with a 70 pin lead which the Chevs overcame and went into the third game one pin up. However the Wanderers came back to take a 120 pin lead in the (Conte on next col.) Pigg CHEVS WIN MIXBD LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP (Cont, ) .. home stretch. Here again the Chevs caught fire and when the smoke had cleared' away they had picked up enough to beat out the Wanderers by 4 pins, It was a good series and both teams are to be con gratulated on their efforts. Our sincere congratulations go to the Champs for the 1954-55 season, The following are . the Chevs captained by W. Day: Es. Brophy, lt. L. Day, R. Day, H, Hall, J. Semeniuk, S. Todd and J. Todd. . . Both the Teachers and Our Gang fell off badly. The other teams in the roll off which included the Hydro, Easy Going, Superiors and Thistles just couldn't get going and were never contenders that night. The following is the Alley Cat team captained by K. Anderson: J. Anderson, D, Coupal, D, Kurylo, W. Kurylo, R. Slattery and V. Slattery.
