Thanks to our Mothers, we had: lunch to spare for over 350 students} (Cont. on next col,) SPORTS JAMBOREE (Cont, , Page 3 TERRACE BAY WIN HOCKEY AND CURLING IN" thanks to our local merchants, we had soft -drinks for all; thanks to our Kiwanis Club, "we had our sports properly supervised, ' The ideal result for such a Sports Jamboree would be for each school to win one event, It almost worked out that way. Schreiber won the Badminton, hands down; Marathon won the Bowling; Terrace Bay won the Curling; Nipigon won the Girls! Basketball, Marathon the Boys! Basketball; and: Terrace Bay the Hockey. We are sorry that such good sports as the Geraldton students failed to win one of the events, We might be prepared to grant them our win in Curling as long as they let us keep our Hockey win. To date the only two schools ever to win the Goldfield hockey trophy in ten years of competition has been Geraldton (6 times) and schreiber (4 times}. We are therefore particularly proud of that win.
