Volume 5, No. 7 BROTHERHOOD WEEK ~ FEBRUARY 20/TH..27TH, 1955. Plans are- well completed for the observance of Brotherhood Week, included in which is an Essay Contest for Grade 7 and 8 pupils in the immediate district, Judges for this contest are the respective High Schoc:l Principals of Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Marathen, Then there is the Oratorical Contest which will see one finalist from each of the foregoing High Schools competing for an existing Public Speaking Trophy, The Home and School Associaticn is cooperating in this regard and will include this activity as a part of their regular monthly meeting. This will take place at the T, B. Continuation School Auditorium on Monday, February 2lst commencing at 8:90 pom. Everyone is cordially invited, and urged, to support this worthy endeavour. Lunch will be served by the Home and School Association to wind up the evening. Finally, the annual Brotherhood Banquet will be held at the Hotel Terrace on Wednes-~ day evening, February 23rd at 7:00 p.m. (not 6:30 p.m,). The Committee has been successful in obtaining as Guest Speaker Mr, Saul Laskin prominent figure in Lake- head circles, a keen supporter of Brother- hood and a Rabbi of the Jewish faith, Included in the organization sponsoring Brotherhood Week locally are the Lions, Kinsmen, Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge, Kiwanis, Oddfellows and Canadian Legion, Reservations for the Banquet are being handled on a limited quota per group with the following individuals in charge of reservations for Terrace Bay: Bert Laundy, Ted Young.
