For one dozen tarts use: 1/3 cup butter d/o cup golden corn syrup 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 to 2/3 cup raisins l/h teaspoon nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon salt i eggs Line three-inch tart tins with pastry. Chill while making filling. Melt butter, add all ingredients ex- cept eggs. Mix thoroughly. Let mixture cool and add the eggs, beaten just suf- ficiently to combine yolks and whites, Pour filling into pastry-lined tart tins, Set on cookie sheet. Bake on lowest rack in very hot oven (450°F,) for 15 to 20 minutes, When baked, loosen edges with pointed knife. The regular monthly meeting of the Terrace Bay Home and School Association was held Monday evening, October 18th in St. Martin's Separate School. The meeting was opened by singing O Canada and Mrs. D. Porter presiding in the chair. Mrs, Porter spoke on citizenship and the value of new citizens to Canada, Bruce Rapke, Beth Borsum, Lloyd cae Phillips, Holly Berndsson, Janis Gross, Gary Kulcheski, Elaine Zyri, Darlene Larson and Maureen Mann performed a * very charming European Folk Dance, under the direction of Miss Whyte, Minutes of the past meeting were read by Mrs. Ginn and the treasurer's report was given by Mr. Corrigan. Mrs. Briggs as program Convenor, said that the Nov- ember meeting would consist of a film and the Public School Inspector present as guest speaker, lr, Kenny spoke on our coming guest speaker and showed his pleasure at the large attendance. Mr. Knauff, Membership Convenor, reported 125 paid up members, Mrs. Porter reminded everyone of the next regular meeting on November 15th, which will be in the Audit- orium, The meeting was then turned over to Mrs. Harold Hall who was in charge of the program. Mrs, Hall thanked the child- ren for their entertaining dance and remarked that everyone should strive to help new citizens. Jean Goodfellow and Donna Lohr sang a delightful number of European Folk Songs, accompanied by Miss Clayson. Mrs, Hall introduced and interviewed Mr. Stan Matuzak who was a Dis-Placed person. He explained the procedure of coming to Canada "and related his many experiences during his life and the war, Miss Mattson inter- viewed Mr, Niiaren who was an immigrant of Finland. He was able to enlighten us on the school system, homes and many interesting points of Finland. lir. Niiaren then showed a lovely film of Finland, Mrs. Gombola, Luncheon Hostess, and her committee served tea and sandwiches+
