Volume 4, No. 28 BASEBALL EXECUTIVE NAMED On Monday July 12th a meeting was held to form an executive to promote and control hardball in Terrace Bay. Until the present this work has been carried on by a few overworked individuals, and it was felt that an overall association should be formed to preserve the work that has already been done and to coordinate the activities of the baseball leagues, As a result, Don Ollen-Bittle was named Association Chairman, Joe Adamo Vice- Chairman, Tom Smith Secretary«Treasurer, Pete Schrier resigned his job as Secretary~ Treasurer to take over as Chairman of Events Committee, Harold Marsh, Minor Base- ball Convenor and Bill Borsum Senior Base-~ ball Convenor, Also on the executive are the team coaches and managers - Chuck Haviland, Malcolm Craig, Joe Heenan and Phil Stuart. At present the main objective of the Association is to provide uniforms and equipment for Senior, Midget, and Little League teams in Terrace Bay, and to encour- age participation in baseball both from a player and spectator standpoint, At present, the Seniors are playing a 12-game series with Marathon and Heron Bay, the Midgets are playing a 12-game series with Schreiber and the Little Leaguers are involved in an 8-game series with Schreiber, The support of the people in Terrace Bay is solicited, especially for the mid- get and little leaguers who in a few years will be carrying Terrace Bay colours in the Senior League, So come on baseball fans and support your local teams.
