Terrace Bay and were made by H. C, Laundy in his capacity as chairman of the Improvement District of Terrace Bay. Mr. Dave Locking, High School Principal taught these men for the past two years and he introduced them to the meeting, Dave Locking informed the meeting that these "New Canadians" had been most faithful in their attendance at class, They attended class two evening a-week for the past two years. The course itself was by no means easy, In fact the quest- ions regarding Citizenship were far from easy and it was doubtful whether many "born" Canadians could pass the test, Dave Locking spoke highly of these gentlemen and said they were an example to al] new people to Canada, They had made a true effort to learn our language and our system of Government, Dave went on to say that these cert- ificates would go a long way toward helping these fellows obtain their citizenship papers. After five years in Canada they could apply for their citizenship.
