Prze 3 prize by booming out a 245 yard drive at the driving range, Haviland bettered J, . Holancin's drive by 2 yards, who hit one for a distance of 243 yards to win second prize, D, Porter held the record for the better part of the day by driving out a money ball of 242 yards to take 3rd prize, Mrs, Reynolds copped the ladies* class by smacking a money ball 145 yards, B. Sadowick ran into a little.tough luck when he boomed one out 239 yards without a roll, Bill's ball was a well hit ball only to alight on a patch of soft dirt and stay put, There is no doubt that if Bill had had a little roll he would have easily bettered Haviland's mark. Although Haviland copped first prize, it was not the furthest driven ball of the day as the contestants had only three marked balls out of every pail which: thoy. could use in the contest, The range record to date is held by an unknown driver of a ball that went for a dazzling ride of 260 yards, Jmy one of the long distance drivers could hold claim to the range record, It so happened that H, Solly, J, Holancin or D, Porter could claim the range record because it was only after they had finished teeing off that six balls were found past 0, Haviland's 245 yard marker, One going the distance of 260 yards is a good drive anywhere, All six of the balls that sailed past Haviland's money ball were unmarked, This event was such a success that the Driving Range Committee will put on more of these competitions at a later date, Other prize winners for hitting a ball in a barrel and hitting markers were: - J, Dika, H. Mosienko, G, Tarenko, B. Day, D. Gow, 0, Dalzell, B. Sadowick, ©, Woods and N, Allan, Ow0-0 | Little scratches ' need prompt : attention - even. on TOUGH GUYS.
