And now is the time ~ when we are going to prove that the local Credit Union is a decided asset to Terrace Baye This Club was actually formed last October = formed at the worst possible time of the year for people to save money, Nevertheless, some people docided to put' some money into shares = and then, a few of these members later found that they needed extra cash, so they took out loans. To date, the Credit Union boasts only fifty members - but loans have been made for a total of nearly one thousand dollars}! Now, don't forget: this is a young Com= munity; we are all just ordinary working People and we aren't blessed with large amounts of money, But, yet in a short space of four months a few people managed to band together and provide working capital for their fellow members to the tune of nearly $1,000.00," This should prove to the most sceptical that a Credit Union is a workable, beneficial addition to any Town, Further proof of this last statement is the fact that two Credit Unions in Fort William have made loans to the extent of one million, six hundred thousand dollars over a ten year period!! And, who benefitted by this tremendous loan amount?? Why, the members themselves, They received the use of the money and received the interest they paid, back in the form of dividends, Elsewhere in this issue of "The News" is ea notice re the Annual Meeting of the Credit Union, Why don't you attend this mecting and learn how you, too, can benefit by joining the local Credit Union, : For further information contact any member of the Executive;=- Messrs.
