December 26th) "GUARD CHRISTMAS PLEASURES BY SAFETY MEASURES" A A LL A A A A ses o-- OE AR RR Ne eR A RO A a eae ee eS ee Ana ne ape onmnmae 0-0-0 NO MOVIES ON TUESDAY NIGHT Due to the fact that the big Christmas party takes place on Tuesday night, the 20th, Alcana Theatres have very graciously cancelled their shows for that evening, in order that the Hall be put in shape for this event. 0-0-0 SAFETY PARTY IS GREAT SUCCESS The big safety party which was held last Thursday in the Recreation Hall proved to be a tremendous success, All of the work and effort that was put into this affair by the Safety Committee was most cer= tainly appreciated by all those who attended, The movie "Meke Mine Music" turned out to be the great piece of entertainment that it is publicized to bes; Roy Saari's orchestra lived up to its reputation; the kiddies really went for their free treats at the shows and the adults wasted no time in making short work of their free pop and tid bits that were served during the dance. One of the highlights of the evening was the vocal rendition of several blues numbers by Doug Christian, one of our neighbours from Hydro. Doug!s act was not ins cluded in the programme but was extremely well received by the audience. At midnight, Fred Soughton introduced Messrs. Porter end Gillis who offered hearty congratulations to all concerned, who have helped in any way to keep Longlac!s safety record intact. All in all, it was a dandy party, enjoyed to the utmost by the residénts who are looking forward to the completion of 200 Safe Days and another gala evening,
