As we go to press we are completing our 40th day without a disabling accident, That simply means that for almost 40 consecutive days, every person on the LonglLac payroll has worked with= out a disabling lost-time injury. This is not our longest run without such an accident, but we can establish an all time record since start-up by working safely for another 12 days and just 8 more safe days give us our first accident free month since starteup, For some time now we have been aiming at an objective of 200,000 safe man hours and this can be attained by working safely until October 7th, just 15 days away, From the standpoint of records which can be established we all have a stake in work= ing safely but even more important than records is the fact that every hour of every day worked safely by LongLac employees spares each one of us from the physical pain and suf- fering which would follow if we were personally involved in a disabling accident. And in most instances the injured person is not the only one who pays a big price, for the lives of wives, children and friends are so often disrupted also when the accident results in gsorious injury. And so again we appeal to everyone to "Be on the Alert", "It Doesn't Pay to Take Chances" since "Accidents Happen in a Flash", Every hour of every day it pays to "Be Carce ful = the Life You Save May be Your Own", o~O0=0 Terrace Bay News published weckly at Terrace Bay, Ontario, is dévoted to the interests of everyone associated with the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company Limited, a wholly owned sub- sidiary of Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
