In the chair was the president of the Terrace Bay Hockey Association, Bill Borsum, who gave a comprehensive report on the activities of the Executive in planning for the '48 - '49 season. It was pointed out by the president that the Executive hoped this year to furnish two sets of equipment for use by House League teams and that the procurement of additional equipment to be added to that already on hand, would involve an expenditure of a considerable sum of money. Reference was also made to the expansion of the North Shore League and it was indicated that at the present time teams would, in all probability, be entered from the communities of Nipigon, Red Rock,' Schreiber and Terrace Bay, with Marathon and Pine Portage still on the uncertain list. The question of membership in the Terrace Bay Hockey Association was then discussed and the meeting agreed that a $5.00 active membership would be desirable in order to help finence the purchase of equipment which would be available to all active memh-vs who had positions on any of the House League teams or the North Shore League team, It was tu.' ' pointed out that by such a cooperative effort it would be possible to eliminate injurics which otherwise occur if players were without adequate protective equipment. The question of a "Booster Club" for hockey at Terrace Bay was then raised -nd it was felt that there would be many people in the community who would like to assist in the financing of the club by taking out honourary memberships. It was also noted that such honourary memhers would be given priority when tickets were sold on chartered buses for games outside of the community, The membership of the "Booster Club" was set at OL,00, - The appointment, by the president, of Peter Mazza and Murdo Campbell to act. on the Rink Committee which will control ice facilities at Terrace Bay was ratified by the meeting. It was interesting to have present at the meeting a number of young lads from the community who were intcrested in the formation of minor hockey teams and assurance was given by the President, Bill Borsum, that every effort would be made to meet their needs. Before proceedings closed a vote of thanks was extended to the Executive for their efforts to date on behalf of the Hockey Association. The Executive consists of President - Bill Borsum; Vice-President - Harold Marsh; Secretary-Treasurer - Eldon Marostica; Minor Hockey Representative - Deve McDonald; Publicity, Equipment and Game Officine of Harry: Geri, 0-0-0 ST.
