After weeks of preparation and work, two clay topped courts have been com- pleted and play commenced last week-end. The courts are located in the Townsite just south of the school area and west of the Shopping Centre. The Terrace Bay Tennis Club was formed late last summer for the purpose of organizing tennis at Terrace Bay and interest exhibited at that time and since, warranted construction of the two courts by LongLac Pulp and Paper Company while the club purchased the necessary nets, tapes and hardware. : At a meeting of the Tennis Club executive held on Wednesday evening July 28th at the home of the President, Bob Harris it was agreed that the grounds committee of the club would assume responsibility for all general maintenance such as rolling the courts and making minor repairs to the clay surface. The club Treasurer Jeanne McCord reported on finances and stated that fees had been paid by 34 members to date. All tennis players are urged to pay their fees to either Jeanne McCord at the North Camp Engineering Office or to Mrs. Stan Hodgkiss, 62 Laurier Avenue, in the Townsite. It should be noted that courts may be used by members only. The membership oo is $5.00, single mombership is ~5-00, while the fee for children under 16 is #l.00.
