The whistle will be used to indicate starting and quitting times and also for fire alarm purposes. Oe we _TERRACE BAY CURLING CLUB NEWS Wednesday evening, January 7th, saw curling of"i- cially under way at the 2-sheet Terrace Bay Curl- ing rink, the idea for which had evolved from a meeting of curlers held just two months ago. Since that time, a lot of people have done a lot of hustling in order that we might have curling this season in our community, even though we are still in the construction stage. From the General Manager down, volunteers have generously donated their time and although at certain stages of rink construction the turnout was, perhaps,a little dis- couraging, the fact remains that <4 rinks are at present engaged in a 9 day Novelty Bon- spiel, the results of which will not be known until Thursday night, January 15th. Present plans call for games at 7:00 ard 9:00 p.m. every evening throughout the season with games on Saturday and Sunday afternoons also. Townsite ladies who are members of the Curling Club may arrange games for any afternoon Monday through Friday. (Cont'd on page 4) OO. HOCKEY NOTES Under the able direction of Ed Brady and his Hockey Association executive the hockey picture at Terrace Bay looks good. The boys have been practising hard for house league teams as well as the Terrace Bay team entered in the North Shore Hockey League. : The schedule will be drawn for the North Shore Hockey League when the executive meets at Terrace Bay Saturday night. On Monday evening, January 1eth,. in the Administration Office there be a meeting of the Terrace Bay Hockey Association executive. All teams planning on playing in the House League during the coming season are urged to send a representative to this meeting as it is hoped that it will be possible to draw the schedule for the season at the meeting. Oh cei Ooi Public Skating - The Hockey and Skating rink in the Lower Camp has been reserved for pleasure skating Tuesday and Friday evenings and Sunday after- noon and evening during which no hockey playing will be permitted.
