Ltd, On Friday, October 24th, it was officially announced by Lengl.ac's Gencral ilanager, HS. Craig, that Andreas Christensen had been appointed Mill Mill Manager of the Company. It is therefore fitting, that in this issue of Terrace Bay News, MWhols Who around the Job" should be devoted to lir. Christensen. Andreas Christensen was born in Norway where he attended Public and High School, following which he served an apprenticeship for two years in a sulphite pulp and paper mill. He then entered the Technical College at Porsgrund, Norway from which he graduated in Mechanical Engineering. After his graduation from Technical College, Mr. Christensen went to Germany to study Chemical Engineering, specializing in Pulp and Paper and in 1914 he graduated from the Polytechnic Institute at Cothen, Germany. In 1915, Andreas Christensen moved to the United States where his first job was the organization of 4 Control Department for the Minnesota and Cntario Paper Company at International Falls, :-inn. and Fort Francis, Ontario. By the latter part of 1916 he had started up a sulphite mill for Pacific iills at Ocean Falls, B.C. Overseas service with the Canadian Army in a chemical warfare unit followed, and in 1919 Mr. Christensen was discharged. After spending a short Came: B.C. he took 4 position in Wisconsin with the Rhinelander Paper Company as Sulphite Super- intendent. In 1934 he moved west again, this time to the Rainer Corporation in the State of [fashington and the B.C. Pulp & Paper Company of Vancouver B.C. where he "as engaged in proccss control and development work on rayon and nitrating pulps. In 1940 "Christie" moved to Kapuskasing as a Sulphite Superinvente . for Spruce Falls Power and saper Company, Limited, where he remained until his transfer to Terrace Bay. In 1924 at Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Andreas Christensen was united jn marriage to Anna Miller. Qne son, John Andreas, age 18, is at present attending 5th form at the Fort William Collegiate. Apart from his work, Christie likes to fish ana hunt and it's more than a rumor that he wields a wicked mashie at golf. We take great pleasure in gincercly welcoming to Terrace Bay, s Christensen, his good wife, and son Jgohn. We trust that life for them at Terrace Bay will be long and happy. ; ANTHRACLTE COAL FOR TONNSTTE RESTDENTS | Several cars of anthracite nut or stove coal are expected shortly after -Hovember 15th and orders should be placed in advance with MissTerry Paulmert at the Lower Camp Engineering Office so that as much coal as possible may be delivered direct from the cars.
