Marie, Marathon, Fort William, Port Arthur, Stv«n Rock and Geraldton, ; Toronto newspaper reporters, including Robert Sheridan of The Globe and Mail, were loud in their praise of what they saw at Terrace Bay. At one point in a news report Mr. Sheridan stated: "The Townsite of Terrace Bay was an eye-opener to the visiting Toronto group, the colour, design and layout of the homes drawing many appreciative comments," During the tour of the project by Board of Trade members, comments on all sides indicated amazement at the progress which had been made on mill erection and Townsite development since actual construction work started less than 18 months ago. Such comments were a tribute not only to those who have been responsible for the planning and supervision of construction work, but to every individual who has been associated with the project. Without the loyal cooperation which has been so much in evidence to date, such progress, as we have witnessed at Terrace Bay, would not have been possible. On Wednesday evening, in the Main Dining Room at the Lower Camp, the visitors were guests at a banquet tendered by the Hydro Hlectric Power Commission and the Long Lac Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd, Guests were welcomed to Terrace Bay by H.S. Craig, Manager of the Long Lac organization (who acted as Chairman of the banquet) and R,.L. Hearn, General Manager and Chief Engineer of the Commission. Speaking on behalf of the Board of Trade, E.G. Burton, 2nd Vice President of the Board and Managing Directon.of the Robert, Simpson Company, expressed the eratitude of the visitors for the hospitality which had been extended, In a heart-warming gesture, Mr. Charles H.. Sage, President of Spruce Falls Power and Paper and Vice President of both Kimberly Clark Corporation and the Long Lac organization, paid sincere tribute to a number of guests not seated at the head table, Heading the list was our own Malcolm Spidell of the Woodlands' Department ,. Included also were D,W. Lang, Toronto; E.S. Noble, Kapuskasing and Maurice Nicol, Rossport.
