SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION ORGANIZED Following an initial organization-meeting, held in the Recreation Hall June 18th, at which it was decided to set Monday, June 23rd, as a deadline for team entries, eleven softball teams were organized and applications from these teams were received by a Softball Committee (com- posed Ae a representative from each team) which met on June 23rd at 7:00 p.m. to officially organize the Association. President of the Terrace Bay Men's Softball Association is R.P."Dick" Rigby, Superintendent of Ontario Construction Company, and under his able guidance, the success of the Association is assured, Two leagues have been organized, an "A" League and a "B" League, and teams are being per- mitted to enter into the league of their choosing, Three teams have been entered from the Hydro project. In addition to President Rigby, members of the Softball Association Committee are: G.Ferguson and K.Dunean, Ontario Construction; Stan Hunter, Dominion Catering; J.McDonald, Renown Construction; A.Armstrong, J.E.Monk and L.D.Davis of Hydro; Carson Getz and H.Salmon of Fraser~Brace; Paul Cybulka, C.P.R; and H.Chesley, LongLac Pulp and Paper Company Limited. -o0o0- HERE AND THERE Al. Heuer has been nominated as our "Here and There" man of '47. That's right! If Al. isn't here, he's there, meaning Terrace Bay and Neenah, respectively. He is kept on the move and we hope he enjoys his intermittent stays with us. -o0lo- Warren Sargent, of Kimberly-Clark Staff Engineering, will spend the next few weeks of his life in Terrace Bay. Warren is here to assist in the design of our Sewage Disposal plant. Hope you enjoy your stay, Warren. sais Welcome back to your old post 'Pop'!. John Sechesky will be seen at his old job, guiding traffic over the C.P.R. track. We hope you're back for good 'Pop!, -o00- A party for Leo Levert 'was held at the Townsite house for Canadian Bridge Company as he is leaving for Hamilton to be married. Square and round dancing were enjoyed and a presentation by Mr. Coty, of a travelling bag, on behalf of the Canadian Bridge employees, was made. Every- body enjoyed the party and hope to see Leo bring back the bride. -o0o- Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jones, Sr., returned Monday from a short visit to the Lakehead. -o0o- Equipment for the new cafeteria in the North Camp has all been received. With good luck, it should be in operation before the end of the month. -o0o0~ Evidence that there is still good fishing in the district was given this weekend by Walt Lemiski, Jack Enstrom and Art Goebeil. On Sunday, June 22nd, they caught fifteen pike in Blackbird Lake. -o00- Welcome back! To Earle Veitch, returning from his two-week vacation, looking fine and well visited. A WORD TO THE WISE At a ball game the other rey there was some language used of a kind that ladies pretend . not to hear. May we suggest that such language not be wasted on ball games but saved for the bunkhouse where it sounds better, -o00- -o00~
