At around 1 a.m., the three vic- tims were in Shell Park, 3307 Lakeshore Rd. W., when they were approached by a group of four to six suspects, police said. One suspect reportedly pulled out a handgun and demanded the victims hand over their belong- ings. Police said a 20-year-old male victim was robbed of his necklace and assaulted, possibly struck on the head with the handgun. An 18-year-old male victim was reportedly assaulted and robbed of his necklace and wallet by a different suspect. Police said another 18-year-old male victim was assaulted; how- ever, nothing was stolen from him. All three individuals were transported to hospital with non- life-threatening injuries. Police are not providing de- scriptions of the suspects as they may be underage, but said inves- tigators are working to identify them. THREE SENT TO HOSPITAL FOLLOWING VIOLENT ROBBERY DAVID LEA dlea@metroland.com CRIME Halton police are looking for one man after a knife was pulled during a shoplifting incident at an Oakville Home Depot Tues- day, July 5. At around 8 p.m., a man attend- ed the Home Depot at 2555 Bristol Circle, loaded up a cart with vari- ous tools and then attempted to leave through the Garden Centre exit without paying, police said. It's alleged that when a store security employee attempted to stop this individual by putting their hand on the cart, the sus- pect pulled a knife and pointed it at the employee. The employee backed off, at which point the suspect fled the scene. No one was injured during this incident. Approximately $1,600 worth of items and tools were stolen. The man is described as 25-40 years old with brown skin, dark hair and a medium build. Shortly after midnight, the victim was at the Cineplex Cine- mas complex at 2081 Winston Park Dr., when he was ap- proached by three other youths, two males and a female, police said. It's alleged the victim was punched and his glasses and shoes were stolen. Police said the shoes were re- turned shortly after the robbery by someone who was with the suspects. The victim suffered minor in- juries during this incident.
