15 | O akville B eaver | T hursday,M ay 12,2022 insidehalton.com The tenure of his time at the board has come to an end. Pat Daly resigned from his po- sition as the Director of Educa- tion with the Halton Catholic Dis- trict School Board on April 19. The former director had held the position since 2018 and is leaving to become principal of St. Mi- chael's College School. "It has been a privilege to serve the Halton Catholic com- munity and work alongside so many talented and dedicated staff in each of my roles with this board," said Daly. Daly began his career in 1989 as a secondary school teacher with HCDSB. Then he spent the next 25 years being promoted to a variety of roles with progressive responsibility, including depart- ment head, secondary school vice-principal and secondary school principal. Marvin Duarte, chair of the HCDSB, called his departure a huge loss for the board. "Throughout his tenure, di- rector Daly has done an exempla- ry job in leading our system through a number of challenges and a period of great uncertainty as we navigated through a global pandemic. He is valued and re- spected by staff, parents and stu- dents alike and will be greatly missed by our community," said Duarte.
