BARKER, Marilynn Ann "Lynne" (Harris) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved Wife, Mom, and Grandmother. Lynne passed away suddenly from a heart attack on March 16th at the age of 78, with her loving husband by her side. She passed away at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Lynne was a loving wife to Doug, the best mother to Paul, Kim (Marc), and Cheryl (Frank), proud Grandmother of Elise, Nathan, Isabelle, Evelynn, Samuel, and Luke. Lynne was a treasured sibling to Dan Harris (Ruth) and Don Harris. She is predeceased by her sister Joan Speirs (2020). Lynne cared for everyone and was a friend to all. She extended a helping hand to anyone in need and was valued wherever she went including St. Judes Anglican Church, the Ladies Gourmet Club, and the Canning Court Neighbourhood group. A funeral and burial have already taken place. She moved through the world with quiet dignity and grace. She was our rock, and we are lost without her. Donations in Lynne's memory would be greatly appreciated to St. Judes Anglican Church Oakville, St. Paul's Anglican Church Caledonia, or Trillium Health Partners Foundation. Andrew is survived by his wife of 43 years Rosalind, his four children, sisters Florence (Hank), Dolly and extended family. Andrew was predeceased by his sister Maria, mother of James. Andrew was born in Groningen, Holland, emigrating with his family to Canada in 1946. Andrew proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for three years. Andrew was a man of high intelligence and many interests. These interests led him to careers in many fields, including bowling and computer technology. He was recognized as a major league bowler, sharing his talents as a coach to many. His interest in technology and business led him to a career in development and management of information systems. As a result of a heart condition, Andrew retired early and, with his wife relocated to Fort Erie in 1992, closer to his family. In his relocation Andrew adopted his first German Shepherd - ("Shadow the Wonder Dog") who he trained to entertain seniors and children. Andrew's inquiring mind drove him to constantly stay current and seek knowledge. Andrew enjoyed the companionship of other Fort Erie Canadian Legion Branch 71 members and could be found on many afternoons reading the newspaper at what he referred to as "his office". The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff at Douglas Memorial Hospital in- patient unit, Dr Kim Scher, Niagara Community Paramedic Program and Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Home and Community Care. Andrew's wish was for direct cremation. For those who wish, a donation to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 71 can be made in Andrew's name and would be appreciated.
