Det. Paul St. Denis said the investiga- tion began in January after police received anonymous tips about possible drug-relat- ed activity. On Thursday, March 3 the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau executed Cannabis Control Act search warrants at an Oakville residence in the area of Trafal- gar Road and Glen Ashton Drive as well as at a condo in Mississauga. As a result of this investigation, police reportedly seized more than 19 kilograms (41 pounds) of cannabis, 500 grams of hash- ish, more than 700 packages of THS edibles and chocolate and 1.4 kg of psilocybin. Police said they also seized $20,000 cash and a money counter. A 31-year-old Oakville man, arrested at the Mississauga condo, has been charged with possession for the purpose of selling cannabis under the Cannabis Act and pos- session of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking under the Con- trolled Drugs and Substances Act. He has since been released and is sched- uled to appear in a Milton court on April 1. The charges have not been proven in court. Police said they would like to caution members of the public regarding the pur- chase of cannabis products from unli- censed distributors as the content of THC can exceed recommended doses for human consumption. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2281 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or haltoncrimes- toppers.ca. Cannabis, cash and other items were recovered by police at residences in Oakville and Mississauga. Halton police photo MAN ARRESTED IN $250K DRUG SEIZURE DAVID LEA dlea@metroland.com CRIME
