Port jumped into a 5- 0 lead at the second and it was smooth sailing from that point on The previous evening, the Midgets had an important "four pointer" in Bramalea as a victory would keep the team in second place. A win might have given them a shot at caching first-place Scarborough Reds Brett Puckrin was in fine form on the mound as he limited the opposition 10 just three earned runs.
