B'ball tourney in July? Basketball players in the area might want to start sharpening their skills now as there's an excellent chance a Gus Macker three-on-three tournament will land in Port Perry this summer. Bob Hull, chairman of the Scugog Centre Goreski boys up against it On Feb. 3rd the Goreski Pee Wees ended up in a "AA" playoff round against Belleville. Port came out playing strong in the first period taking a one to nothing lead into the second period with a goal from Mike' Lefort with s going to lan Garnett and Matt Skerratt. Belleville came out flying in the second period With four goals. * In the third period Belleville scored two more goals and Port added one more goal by Matt Skerratt, assisted by Ian Garnett and John Burnett to give a final score of six to two. On Feb. 4th we travelled to Belleville for game twp and again ran into a tough Belleville team. They ran the score up to 6-0. Billy Carr then blocked a shot and took off on a ass breakaway to give us our first goal. Trevor Weisflock added our second goal to give us a final of 7-2. With Mark are Elizabeth and Peter Peeters and Merlin Suggitt. Club president Carol Gray presented the trophy. It was the first time Mark has skipped to a win in this popular bonspiel in memory «of Robert (Bob) Fletcher, an avid curler who worked on the committee to bring artificial ice to the club.
