Last week while playing golf at Summerlea' with his wife Marion, Bill arrived at the 7th hole, took out the three iron and promptly made a hole-in-one. For most golfers, it's a once in a life time happening to make a hole-in-one. Bill has fired four of them. And two have taken place on that same seventh hole at Summerlea, a par-three measuring some 135 yards. And he only started to play golf about ten years ago when he retired from General Motors. His first ace was in 1986, a year after he started the game. Bill said that when he hit the shot last week "I knew it was going to close." Bat the pin is out of view from the tee-off area, so when he and Marion arrived on the green and didn't see the ball, they first looked behind the green. Finally, Marion walked over to the cup, looked in and there was the ball. Bill nearly made it two in two days. Out at Summerlea the next day, on that same seventh hole, he knockéd his tee shot to within a couple of feet of the pin. Bill and Marion are members at the Summerlea club and golf several times each week. When asked about scores, his reply was that of anyone who plays the game. "Sometimes I have my bad days."
