wr 6 -- Scugog Citizen -- Tuesday, May 2, 1995 Lishmans unveil plans for new facility by Heather McCrae There was a steady stream of people through the Nestleton Community Centre, April 25, to talk to Bill and Paula Lishman about the new 'state of the art' facility the couple is¥oping to build for their varied industries on land West of the hamlet. The plot of land the Lishmans wish to develop is 100 acres currently used as a sod farm on the North side of 7A opposite the Nestleton sign, West of the village. Currently zoned as 'agriculture', the Lishmans will apply to have it rezoned 'modified rural' and develop the area into a LAghman Centre where Bill and Paula will be able to éarry on with their separate _ industries. Whether it's Paula's creative "Duff, are known throughout the knitted fur fashions, Bill's sculptures or his experimental migratory flights with the Canada Geese, the Lishman name is known around the world. The 100 acres will be the proposed home of a 40,000 sq.ft. facility allowing the continued production for the Pauld Lishman International fur industry. Viewing the artist's concepts, the building represents a 'state of the art' design including an 'open concept' studio. As for Bill, he land would include an aviarium, a facility for breeding and raising birds as well as the care and study of the feathered creatures.
