Thief walks away with 'gold chains Durham Police are looking for a man in his early 30's who walked out of a Port Perry jewelry store with $2100 worth of gold chains. Police said the theft took place about 1:00 PM November 21 when a man entered Pentland Jewellers op Queen Street and asked to have a new battery put in a wrist watch. As the clerk was putting the batter in the watch, the man broke open a display case and walked out of the store with 21 gold chains valued at about $100 each. Police said the man is white, 5' 8" witha stocky build. He has black hair and beard, Was wearing a black leather jacket, blue harem pants and running shoes.
