pr. Scugog Citizen -- Tuesday, May 3, 1994 -- 33 = One victory short of a perfect season talented team from Valley Farm in Pickering. Cawker had advanced to the finals by defeating Lakewoods PS of Oshawa and Roland The 8. A. Cawker Junior Boys basketball team made its second consecutive trip to the all- Durham "Final Four" last week impressive record of 36 wins and one defeat. Unfortunately, the only loss by the Eagles this season came on Tuesday night against a tall and Michener PS from Ajax in "Sweet Sixteen" action two weeks ago. The Michener victory was especially exciting with Cawker posting a determined "come from behind" win in the last few minutes of the game. Earlier in April, Cawker had captured the Central Durham Championships by defeating Beaverton PS and RH Cornish. Other highlights this season include successfully defending Perry Invitational, as well as many other wins in smaller tournaments. The Junior Eagles enjoyed a well balanced offensive attack that relied mainly on quick passing. In defensive coverage, discipline was the key all season tong. Coaches Janice Ferguson and Rob Murrfly said they found this year's lineup to be a delightful group of boys and all in all it was an extremely rewarding season. oN The S.A. Cawker Junior Boys Basketball team had a record of 36 wins and"one loss this season... not too shabby. See story above for detalls.
