The next game was at home on Valentine's Day. No or love was shared here. We let Bradford know that we! good team and they'll have to kill themselves trying to win. We pounded them 9-2, playing in one of our best performances of the year. Almost every play was thought out and executed perfectly. We had three first period goals to Bradford's one. Tim Fitzpatrick had two of them and 'Crazy Legs' Adam Smith had the other. In the second period we really poured it on, outscoring Bradford four to nil. T.C. blasted the puck home after picking up a rebound out front. Assists to Mike Morden and Colin Laird. Adam Hunter found the key, unlocking the Bradford net and declaring "Open Season". Rob Murphy assisted. Our next goal was unassisted. Kevin Gray stole the puck at the blueline, walked in and after displaying some keen stickhandling, put it in down low. Scott Heffern got his name on the sheet, picking up a pass from his linemate Adam Hunter and lifting the puck over the sprawling Bradford tender. After two periods it was Port Perry 7, Bradford 1. In the third we added insult to injury, putting two more markers up on the board. Adam Hunter scored the first one unassisted, shortside. He then picked up an assist, for his fifth point of the night, oh Scott Heffern's second goal of the night. Tim Fitzpatrick also assisted. On February 18, we made the trip to Bradford to give the Billygoats another round. We weren't pumped before this one (a key part of us playing great is everyone being psyched before the game) and Bradford took Tim Fitzpatrick started the scoring, tipping Chris Drury's shot from the point, Rob Murphy then scored our second ( final) goal on the 'erplay, after accepting a fine pass from Kevin Hobbs' soft hands. That was it for us, the final score being 5-2 for Bradford, who added an empty net goal to their lead late in the third period. On Monday February 21 we hosted Bradford and on the following Friday, we'll be in Bradford battling it out. If necessary, game seven will be in the SBcugog Arena on Monday, February 28 at 7:30 pm. Come out and support local youth and see some great playoff hockey. Bring the family (but leave the dog at home!) I assure you, you will not walk away unsatisfied.
