= 33 -- Scugog Citizen -- Wednesday, Septemb 8 1998 =z Friendly league for Sunnybrae ladies Every Tuesday evening since last May, a group of ladies have been getting together for a friendly game of golf. And for the Sunnybrae Ladies Business League, the emphasis is most certainly "friendly." "This is a fun league, the idea is to meet as many different people as possible," explained Marj Medford last week. She said that while there is a wide range of golf playing ability among the members; all are more than welcome, including those who have never played the game but would like to start. "We are just a group of friendly people out to have a good time," she said. Members play nine holes each Tuesday evening, and along with those from the Scugog area, they come from as far away as Oshawa and Ajax. Mrs. Medford said being part of the Business Ladies League does not mean one must be a member at the Sunnybrae Course. The League has had excellent support from many local and outside businesses this summer: Lakeside Golf and Repair, Pro Golf (Whitby) Dowson Valu Mart, Creative Basket, Wheatsheaf Cafe, Personal Touch Gift Shop, Antrim House, Emiels Place, Ives Florist, Settlement House, Canadian Tire, Big V Drugs, Stedmans, Pineridge Sports, Brock's Dept. Store, and the Linen Cupboard. Mrs. Medford said the League members greatly appreciate the support they get from these businesses. The League will continue play each Tuesday evening through the end of the season. Anyone interested in playing next year should contact Mrs. Medford at Sunnybrae. The Sunnybrae Business Ladies Golfers are front from left Pat Lebar, Sandy Allen, Joan Harlow, Mar] Medford, Marg Trull , Tia Woodcock. Back from left Anne Thompson, Joane Lee, Val McGraw.
