Members of the cast kick up their heels in a scene from the Millar Lights "Oliver." As always when the Millar Lights put a show on the musical stage, one marvels at the fact these actors are local children from about nine to 17 years of age Caitlin McCoy in her first . major role with the Lights, plays Oliver, the young waif who moves from Dickens orphanage to the Thieves Kitchen of Fagin and his band of tiny pick-pockets. Caitlin performs beautifully in this demanding role. In fact, the entire cast of major characters play their roles to a T, from Millar Light veteran Brad Goreski as Fagin, Kingsley Malcolm as the menacing Bill Sykes, Elissa Blowe as his ill-fated girl Nancy, Melanie Winter as her friend Bet and Daniel Petronijevic as the devil-may- care-twinkle-in-the-eye Artful Dodger. The set, the costumes, the props and the lighting all contribute to the mood of 19th century London from the thieves kitchen, the workhouse to the Three Cripples tavern, scene of the foot-stompin' Oom Pah Pah number. This is a big show with a large cast of Millar Lights and a huge army of back-stage crews who have spent months , in rehearsal and preparation.
