This play won many awards at the Sears Festival at Dunbarton and also won awards at the regional festival earlier this year. Tickets are $5.00 in advance for single nights or you can purchase a Gala Pass for $16.00 which entitles you to all four nights for the price of three, voting privileges for various awards and also free entrance to the gala party which will take place on Friday night after the presentations. A Judy & Peter a8 Here is a refreshing and nutritious 'after walking' snack! 2 medium, ripe bananas (cut into chunks) 1/4 c. unsweetened orange juice 1/2 c. plain low fat yogurt 1/3 c. non fat dry milk 3 thep. sugar or equivalent in sweetener 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 egg white In a blender container, combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth. Pour this mixture into a loaf pan. Place in freezer for 1 hour, until crystals of ice form around edge of pan and it is slushy. Remove from freezer and beat with mixer for about 1 minute on medium speed and then 1 minute on high speed Return mixture to pan and freeze at lease another hour. Makes 4 servings: approximately 145 calories/serving; 1 g. fat. home cookin' lynda kendry- One of my favourite cookbooks has a chapter in it titled "A Cake in the House." I don't know about your house, but any cake in our house is most likely to grow old less than gracefully. We don't often have cakes at our place - probably because cakes are planned - for birthdays or other special occasions! I guess my theory is that unplanned desserts or treats don't really ogunt! There is one cake recipe that we bake at our place that never lasts long or has a slow and painful demise. The following recipe is a result of additions and substitutions - my normal procedure. Here's a new version that we really enjoy. Glazed Pina Colada Cake Preheat oven to 350° Mix together: 1 - 19 oz. crushed pineapple 1 egg, beaten * Wall Coverings * 1 tsp. vanilla 8-12 maraschino cherries, chopped Add: 2c. flour 2/3 c. shredded coconut 1 c. white sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. soda. Mix until blended. Bake in 9"x13" pan until brown. Meanwhile, as cake is baking, make glaze as follows: 1 c. white sugar 1/2 c, butter 1 - 6 oz. can evaporated milk. Bring to a boil and summir for 8 minutes. Pour over warm cake before serving. Excellent warm or cold. Stays fresh and moist for several days.
