After letting Monsma take the first game of the league broomball playoff finals, Woody's came back to win the final two in commanding fashion. Last week they blanked the opposition 4-0 and this past Sunday salted it away with another shutout, while netting three. The final game saw the first period close with no scoring by either team. Each had a power play with Monsma unable to put anything together with theirs and Woody's were given numerous chances during their advantage. Tweens gave it their best For the Pine Ridge Tweens - parents it was four trips to the rink on the weekend to cheer on the girls for our final wrap up to the season. The girls played their hearts out winning two games and losing two games. We needed three victories out of four to advance. Although we did not advance there were no losers as all our girls are richer for the experience. We would like to thank Genni Taylor who volunteered to play goal for us this year and did an outstanding job. . Emma Russell and Laura Domik; two first year players gave their all playing at this level. Jill, Alechia, Dianne, Lee-Ann and Amanda anchored our defence and kept usin a lot of his Pam Hiltz and Jennifer Elliot in their first year of Tween's tition scored many goals this season and will be leaders next year. Jennifer Pashley and Cindy Verschuuren skated miles for us this season and your efforts are most appreciated. A thank you to my assistants Janice Pashley and Linda Elliot for their help as well as Kim Poppleton who came out to practices to work with the girls, I wish all the girls a good summer and look forward to seeing you next September.
