Borelians stage something new Community Theatre of a different kind will be on stage later this month when the Borelians present the court room drama "Night of January 16th." The play by well known author Ayn Rand about a young woman accused of murder in 1934 in New York City, will allow the audience to become part of the jury during each performance, and the play has a different ending depending on what the jury's verdict is each evening. This drama/comedy promises to provide Port Perry theatre goers with a close up-look at what goes on at a murder trial. The production is directed by Borelians veteran David Ellis who has put together a fine cast of actors, most of whom are well known for their roles in previous Borelian productions. Karen Andree plays the role of the woman charged with killing her lover; the judge is played by John Stewart, (another veteran of the stage in this community. Tammi Chilco also has a main role in the production, playing Nancy Lee Faulkner, as does Terry Hodgins as John Whitfield. Other well known names include Bunty Webb and John Foote, both award winning actors. Betty Ann Manule plays the defence lawyer in her first role on stage and Terry Gadd is the district attorney, also in his first stage role. Director Dave Ellis, who is producing this show as well, was nominated last year for his role in Arsenic and Old Lace. "Night of January 16th" will' have a run of six performances at the Town Hall 1873 in Port Perry. It opens Feb. 25, and continues Feb. 26 and 27 with the final three shows on March 4, 5 and 6.
