Adopting the Charles Dickens theme "A Christmas Carol," downtown merchants kicked off the festive season Monday morning as several donned costumes of the Dickens era. Shoppers will discover store windows decorated in Victorian fashion of the Dickens era, carollers in period dress will be strolling Queen Street and merchants will offer free mulled cider, This "Dickens of a Christmas "in Port Perry" theme was developed by merchants in the Business Improvement Area (BIA). This Christmas Carol theme, complete with horse and buggy rides will continue through until January 2.
