SPORTS SHORTS OASA PLAYOFF SERIES TIED BETWEEN CANADIAN TIRE BAN- TAM AND CAMPBELLFORD On August 4, Campbellford trav- elled to Port Perry to play their first game of the OASA Zone Championship and the series is a 2 out of 3 with the winner advancing to the OASA Championship Tournament in Exeter, Ontario, on August 22-23. Mike Underwood started on the mount and struck out the second and «third batter with a runner on second and the third out was a grounder to second baseman Dave B. to Jason and in Port's half our only hit came from Joe when he singled and we were unable 10 score him. Mike and Port's defense kept Campbellford off the score sheet from the second to the fifth inning with Mike striking out five and two flyouts, one by Dave B., Joe and tag outs at first, second, third and force play at second and home. Port finally got on the score sheet in the fourth inning when Mike and BJ singled and Chad also singled scoring Mike and with BJ at third, Jason's flyout brought him home and after four, Port was up 2-0. The final seventh inning, we flew out and our next hit Jason had a single but the next batter was struck out and with two outs, Bill had a single and with Jason at third, and Bill at first, Brent's single scored Jason at third and Bill at first, Brent's single scored Jason and with runners at first and second, our third out was a bullet fly out to Campbellford's short stop.
