Since 2015, Horn has been running one of my fa- vourite local shops, Gifted, where you can find a per- fect present for any hard- to-buy-for friend or family member. And the shop is about to double in size when it relo- cates to Belmont Village. Hoping to open by early September, Horn gave me a sneak peek inside Gifted's new location, formerly home to The Culinary Stu- dio, and before that, Vin- cenzo's. "The new location is twice the size of our Park Street store so we will have more room for displays and hopefully we will be able to bring in some new lines," she told me. "While we have man- aged to build a strong cus- tomer base on Park Street, I think the location on Bel- mont will bring more peo- ple in that didn't know about us and might not have discovered us other- wise." Horn added, "It will look a little different, but will hopefully have the same vibe." That vibe is hard to de- scribe unless you actually spend some time browsing the shelves at Gifted. Quirky, kitschy, cool, bookish, beautiful -- things you never knew existed, things that'd be perfect for that special someone, things you wish someone would buy for you.
