The attack -- labelled a hate-motivated incident, the family targeted for sim- ply practising their Mus- lim faith -- has shocked, sickened and saddened the nation. It's one horrific example among many of Islamopho- bia, xenophobia and all forms of racism that shows hate is not hiding; it's living and breathing out in the open. People of BIPOC communities experience it firsthand. Attacks come in many forms, from microaggres- sions to online hate, dis- crimination, violence and bullying. To combat hate in all its forms, and to amplify the diverse voices of people liv- ing in Waterloo Region, Metroland Media is reach- ing out to racialized com- munities. We want to hear from you.
