Waterloo Regional Po- lice say they believe the overdoses are connected to the use of opioids. Officers from north division re- sponded to four of the calls, and officers from central division responded to the other two. Naloxone was used at four of the six suspected overdoses, including at one incident where it was ad- ministered by an officer. No deaths were reported in connection to these six overdoses. So far this year, there have been 26 fatal overdos- es and 380 overdose-related calls in the region, accord- ing to the Waterloo Region Overdose Monitoring Re- port.
