- Premier Doug Ford announced through a Twitter post that playgrounds would be allowed to be open for use during the Spring 2021 COVID-19 lockdown period, but outdoor gathering limits would still be enforced, walking back another announcement made on Friday April 16, 2021.

Ontario's enhanced restrictions were always intended to stop large gatherings where spread can happen.
Our regulations will be amended to allow playgrounds but gatherings outside will still be enforced. Play outside safely. Parents keep your distance & wear masks if you can't. - Publisher
