Happy International Women's Day Rehabilitation work is underway at the Vista Promenade and Water's Edge Park Shoreline. JUST THE FACTS • Vista Promenade and Water's Edge Park is bordered by Bronte Heritage Park to the west and Water's Edge Drive to the east. • Assessments by the Town of Oakville determined shoreline protection mea- sures at this location had deteriorated over the years and had even accelerated due to recent high lake water levels. • In December 2020 the town began re- habilitation work at the Vista Promenade and Water's Edge Park shoreline. • This work will include reconstruc- tion/improvements of shoreline stone pro- tection and upgrades to trail and park landscaping. • Some of the proposed changes include accessibility improvements asphalt pav- ing, pathway widening, drainage improve- ments and tree planting. • The majority of stone placement work along the Vista Promenade portion is scheduled to be done by the end of March (weather permitting). • The overall site restorations along with the trail and landscaping improve- ments are scheduled to be complete in spring of 2021 (weather permitting). • The overall budget for the project is $2.3 million. Maison Apothecare's Lemon Aide kitchen handwash and all-surface cleaner are among the goodies from across the province included in the limited-time box that's been crafted in celebration of Inter- national Women's Day. "There are so many wonderful women- owned businesses in Ontario that are mak- ing some truly remarkable, best-in-class products," said Sheri Evans, Sobeys local development manager for Ontario. "We're proud that we can create a platform where those products can get the exposure they deserve." The box -- created through a collabora- tion between Sobeys and Nature Knows Inc. -- showcases 17 natural products, in- cluding granola, tea, popcorn, gourmet chocolate, hand cleaners, lip balm, a reus- able mask and more. Even the box itself was locally sourced and made with biode- gradable elements. Oakville's Maison Apothecare was founded by Natacha Rey and features skin care and eco-friendly cleaning products. The Fab Female Local Box is available to purchase now through March 8 at two local Sobeys locations -- 1500 Upper Mid- dle Rd. W. in Oakville and 1035 Bronte St. S. in Milton.
