The green material, which has been installed to show bicycle crossing along the bike lanes, has begun to peel and disinte- grate after a winter that has been tough on the roads. The company that in- stalled the markings, En- nis-Flint, has honoured the warranty they've provided and will be fixing the issue. The green material is called Pre-Mark (Pre- formed thermoplastic pavement markings) and is installed with the use of heat, which creates a chemical reaction and al- lows the product to adhere. The pavement markings that are now chipping were not installed optimally, ac- cording to the region's pro- ject manager Eric Saun- derson. "The markings at King- Erb Streets was placed at night with insufficient heat which has resulted in early delamination of the markings," said Saunder- son.
