After two successful col- laborations in 2015 and 2017, KW Glee returns to the stage with the Kitchener- Waterloo Symphony on Jan. 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Centre in the Square, with brand new music and cho- reography. Led by conductor and ar- ranger Trevor Wagler, the concert features over 100 youth performers from across Waterloo Region who are members of the na- tionally renowned show choir. These talented young performers bring their stel- lar vocals and energetic choreography to the stage while the orchestra pro- vides the music for chart- topping pop hits from the 1960s until now, including music by Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Coldplay, the Bee Gees and more. KW Glee is a pop rock choir that performs live in southern Ontario. Com- prised of young people aged nine-13 (junior) and 14-19 (senior), this Waterloo Re- gion organization is dis- tinctly different than other choirs - the participants sing music right off the pop charts all while delivering full throttle choreography that brings each song to life in an innovative way. In ad- dition to developing perfor- mance skills, KW Glee is committed to building con- fidence, diligence and di- plomacy in members - not just building the perform- ers of tomorrow, but also the leaders of tomorrow. Many of the KW Glee alum- ni have gone on to have promising careers in a vari- ety of fields, including the performing arts. "KW Glee has grown dramatically since it start- ed in 2010," said Amanda Kind, KW Glee's artistic di- rector. "What started as a group of 40 local kids per- forming in a church has evolved into over 100 kids from all over the region en- tertaining thousands of people annually. We are for- tunate to have the best of the best from every school in the area from K-W and Cambridge, to Guelph, El- mira, and even farther out." The kids are thrilled to have the unique opportuni- ty to share their passion and gift for music in such a special concert alongside the esteemed K-W Sympho- ny, Kind added. KW Glee runs Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Centre in the Square, 101 Queen St. N. in Kitchener. Tickets can be purchased online at kwsymphony.ca or by call- ing 519-745-4711 or 888-745- 4717.
