At about 8:30 p.m. Fri- day, a passenger van head- ed south on Trussler Road drove through the inter- section at Cedar Creek Road, according to Water- loo Regional Police. A pickup truck headed west on Cedar Creek col- lided with the van. The im- pact of the crash forced the van into the ditch, ejecting both the driver and a pas- senger. A 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and the 27-year-old male driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police have charged the van driver with careless driving causing death. The driver of the pickup truck has been charged with having excess blood alco- hol causing death.
