PART 12 What is new or just discovered in one generation becomes old or com- monplace by the time of the next generation, We are living at a time when civilization constitutes a greater strain on the eyes than existed ever before. Those who are slow to ac- cept the changes are left behind by the tide of progress which carries the more progressive with it. Because they adhere to old traditions they were slow to aceept the new, but even though slow in accepting, they can do and often look back and wonder how quick the change. Under these modern corditions it is plainly seen that service, health and education are more matters of responsibility and necessity bred of the times than of accident and oppor- tunity as in the past, and with the improvement generally we have im- provement in laws and actions relat- ing to these matters, and to use a slang expression we say "the world moves." "In proving this in showing facts to establish progress we point to curative measures in diseased cases, cases that once were impos- sible are now made possible. Cross- eyed conditions are not necessarily now left with the hope that the bne so afflicted will grow out of it. (to be continued.) etl MAI AP COURT OF REVISION Municipality of the Township of Reach, County of Ontario Public notice is hereby given that a Court of Revision of the Assessment Roll for the Township of Reach for the year 1932, will be held in the Township Hall, Manchester, on Sat- urday, the 4th day of June, commenc- ing at two o'clock in the afternoon to hear and adjudicate upon all com- plaints duly filed against the Assess- ment Roll of the Township of Reach for the year 1932. One of the chief difficulties is to get in touch with a likely customer. That is where the Port Perry Star can help you. We can tell the people what you have for sale. There is a tendency on the part of some to think that because they are familiar with their goods, all other people know about them too. Unfortunately for the seller this idea is not true. Every day brings its changes-- new styles, new prices, and new uses. Nothing is unchanged. That is why the people read the advertisements. They want to 5 KNOW and when they know, they go where they are invited. There is a market at our doors. Sometimes people go long distances to buy articles that could be bought as well or better at home. through the columns of The Port Perr: - what you have to sell. The cost is small.
