A number from here visited with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hill of Lindsay, on Friday evening ast, when relatives and close friends of Miss Verna Hill tendered her a miscellaneous shower. This was a real surpgise for Verna who in a few words thanked the peo- ple for their beautiful gifts. The Zion Choir motored to Little Britain on Sunday evening and assisted in the service there. Their pastor, Rev. Mr. McKee, had charge of the service and delivered a very inspiring sermon. 'lle choir rendered two beautiful anthems, and the mixed quéartette sang "Blessings of "the the mixed quartette sang "Saviour Breathe an Evening Blessing." After the service the Zion Choir was entertained by the Little Britain Choir in the basement of the church. A dainty lunch was served and a social time spent. It is hoped that the Little Britain Choir will repay the vigit in the near future. Mr. Carman Rogers is visiting with friends in Toronto. Mr. William Mortimer was success- ful in winning the Home Garden Judging Contest, and received & four day visit to the Royal Winter Fair, in Toronto. . The Pleasant Point Ladies' Aid held a bazaar and chicken pie supper in Fingerboard School .on Wednesday afternoon and evening. A large number of articles were dis- posed of at reasonable prices, and about 5.30 p.m. supper commenced. A programme was given by local talent consisting of several numbers by the pupils of the schoel, readings by Edith Chalmers, solos by Mr. Bert. Howlett, selections hy Zion Mixed Quartette, readings by Mr. Mac Cameron, violin selections by Mr. L. Gilson, solo by Miss Muriel Clarke, and solos by Mr. Allister Cameron. Henry Wilson the community has lost one of its oldest residents. Deceased who was in his 82nd year, had been in failing health since September, and bedfast for the past two weeks and under the doctor's care. Being of a quiet retiring disposition, he won the respect of all who knew him, He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. M.
